With the development of the Internet, people have become more and more open about their lives. Never before have people been more transparent about their every waking thought than they are on Twitter. Even in the age of MySpace and Facebook, your thoughts were just a small portion of what made up your profile, but with Twitter your thoughts and opinions are localized. In just 140 characters you can tell the world how you feel and what’s on your mind at that exact moment.

With everything in this world there are always drawbacks to the eminent freedoms of the 1st Amendment. There is always someone watching, checking every move, judging every stroke of the keyboard you make. This occurance has been given the ever-so-Twitter-like name of “twatching.” Urbandictionary.com defines the word as “when someone on Twitter is following you just to see your tweets and not tweet themselves.” This has become an epidemic on a site that was created to express individual ideas and thoughts with a casual and light-hearted approach.
